The Superior Alternative to Conventional Ball Sealers

BioBalls dissolve completely after ball-out so there is no need for scraper runs.  Used as a diverting agent and in zonal isolation, BioBalls seal perforations efficiently and allow you to control the effective time of sealing, diverting, and isolation.  They can be used in any application where rubber-coated neoprene (RCN) balls are normally used. BioBalls have been field tested in vertical and horizontal wells.

BioBalls are completely soluble in all aqueous fluids, such as fresh water, brine, and acid.  The solubility rate, which is time and temperature dependent, works in static or agitated fluids.
 
The standard size BioBall is available in 7/8" diameter.  We also have molds to make 5/8",1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", and 21/4" diameters.
 


Specialized BioBall Applications

Insoluble (IS) Bioballs are also available for special applications requiring high differential pressure. 8,000 psi at 200°F after 1 hour of exposure at temperature.

BioBalls HR

  • Appearance: spherical, opaque
  • Specific gravity: 1.18
  • Mechanical integrity: up to 5,000 psi at 220°F after 1 hour of exposure at temperature
  • Application range is 200°F to 350°F
  • Maximum storage temperature 180°F

BioBalls MR

  • Appearance: spherical, green
  • Specific gravity: 1.18
  • Mechanical integrity: up to 3,000 psi at 150°F after 1 hour of exposure at temperature
  • Application range is 120°F to 200°F
  • Maximum storage temperature: 120°F

BioBalls LR

  • Appearance: tan
  • Specific gravity: 1.18
  • Mechanical integrity up to 1,500 psi at 100°F after 1 hour of exposure to temperature.
  • Application range 75°-100°F
  • Maximum storage temperature: 100°F
